KAHLENBERG, 13. SEPTEMBER 1683:

Vienna is surrounded, and the Ottoman army has been besieging the city for more than 60 days. Finally, the mainly Polish relief army under King Sobieski is formed to smash the siege ring. Outnumbered, the courageous heroes soon set out to liberate the city and defend the West.

KAHLENBERG, TODAY:

In gratitude for winning the battle, a church was built on Kahlenberg. The Polish Pope, Karol Józef Wojtyła - John Paul II - visited it for the 300th anniversary year. From here there is also an incomparable view of the Danube city. In the café "Sobieski 1683" you can enjoy coffee together with Daniel Moser.

4.8 KM BEFORE VIENNA, 1683:

"Chava" is served in the tent of a guard post of the Turkish besiegers. A black, hot drink, which was still unknown to the Viennese at that time. But it had not escaped their notice that the strength and stamina of the Ottoman army must have had something to do with this drink. But already the liberators of Vienna are approaching...

VIENNA, JANUARY 17, 1685:

Emperor Leopold I granted the Armenian Johann Diodato the privilege of serving the "Thuringian Gethränks Chava". He opens the first Viennese coffee room in today's Rotenturmstraße 14. It soon becomes an attraction and is the origin of Viennese coffee house culture.

Since 2003, the heart of Daniel Moser Products has been located in the listed former slaughterhouse in Wiener Neustadt.
